Curator Talk - Dorothée Kirch
Curator Dorothée Kirch, talks about the exhibition Disruption in Ásmundur Sveinsson Sculpture Museum. The exhibition consists of works by the artists Ásmundur Sveinsson (1893-1982) and Elín Hansdóttir (b. 1980). Elín shows new works - video, sculptures and paintings and works by Ásmundur from the museum´s own collection are on view. The Curator´s Talk is held in Icelandic.
Dorothée Kirch has worked for the Icelandic art scene since 2001. She has worked for Reykjavík Art Museum, Hafnarborg, Reykjavík Art Festival and The National Gallery of Iceland. In 2011 and 2013 she directed the Icelandic Pavilion at the Venice Biennale and in 2009 she was the Curator of the Icelandic Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. In 2010 and 2014 Dorothée was the director of the Icelandic Art Center. Dorothée has a BA degree from Iceland Academy of the Arts since 2001 and an MBA degree from Reykjavik University since 2005.
The entrance fee for Ásmundur Sveinsson Sculpture Museum is ISK 1.500. Admission is free for children, elderly people (70+) and the disabled.
