In connection with the Sea Festival, held this weekend, 4-5 June, Reykjavík Art Museum offers 2 for 1 on the entrance fee at Hafnarhús. Three different exhibitions on view. Welcome to Hafnarhús!

The exhibition KINGDOM – Flora, Fauna, Fable opens on Saturday 28 May at 4 p.m. at Hafnarhús. The exhibition gives the viewer insight into the art of dissimilar artists through their work from recent years and decades, as well as older works from the archives of Reykjavík Art Museum.

The awards are given every other year and the purpose is to draw attention to what is done well in local museums.

Today the director of the museum, Ólöf Sigurðardóttir, signed an agreement with Rakel Halldórsdóttir and Arnar Bjarnason, restaurant owners of Frú Lauga.

Arnfinnur Amazeen opens his art exhibition in Gallery D at Hafnarhús Reykjavík Art Museum on Thursday 12 May at 17 p.m. Arnfinnur Amazeen (b. 1977) is the third artist to exhibit in Gallery D in the year 2016.

The final day of the Iceland Academy of the Arts graduation exhibition: Anchoring Ground is Sunday 8 May. Admission to the exhibition is free of charge.

During Reykjavík Children´s Culture Festival (19-24 April) children can invite adults to any exhibition at Reykjavík Art Museum for free.

Eighty BA students from the departments of Fine Art and Design and Architecture will show their works in four out of six exhibition halls at Hafnarhús. The exhibition will open Saturday 23 April at 2 p.m.

Reykjavík Art Museum will house all kinds of events for children at Kjarvalsstaðir during the festival. Exhibition of photographs and texts by Icelandic and Polish teenagers, performance evenings for teenagers, sing-along concert for babies and work-shop for children.
