New temporary research vacancy on women’s part in Icelandic art history

Reykjavík Art Museum announces that applications are open for a new temporary research vacancy on women’s part in Icelandic art history. 

The position is meant for research scholars in Icelandic art and cultural history. The research vacancy, which is a collaboration with fine art studies at the University of Iceland, was awarded a three-year grant from the Museum Council, and will be advertised annually for the next three years. This is a 50% position, for one year at a time, with flexible work hours. 

The research’s findings shall be published appropriately but also presented through lectures and communication with the public while the exhibitions are open. 

Research data and conclusions shall be preserved in Reykjavík Art Museum. 

The application shall include a definition of the project and an explanation of how the research in question is likely to throw a new light on women’s part in Icelandic art history. It shall be accompanied with an account of education and experience with studies, publishing and/or the creation of art exhibitions. The scholar will have access to work facilities at Reykjavík Art Museum.
