Artwork of the day is French Forest Scene from 1928 by Jóhannes S. Kjarval (1885-1972).

The exhibition From Abroad at Kjarvalsstaðir displays a series of French Forest Scenes that Kjarval painted in Fontainebleau Forest, outside of Paris in 1928. His woodland pictures display influence from the Impressionists, and attempts to capture the ever-changing nuances of colour and light which create the ambiance of each moment.
