Reykjavik Culture Night at Reykjavík Art Museum
Reykjavík Art Museum offers a diverse programme at Hafnarhús and Kjarvalsstaðir for this year’s Reykjavík Culture Night that takes place on Saturday, August 20th.
Opening hours at Reykjavík Art Museum – Hafnarhús from 10-23h00, Kjarvalsstaðir from 10-22h00 and Ásmundarsafn from 10-17h00. This day the entrance is free of charge and the programme is open to everyone.
PROGRAMME
Hafnarhús
All day: Traveling with a backpack: Power of Images.The family travels together with a yellow backpack through the exhibition Erró: The Power of Images. The yellow backpack is full of interesting things to experience the exhibition in a creative and fun way. The backpack can be borrowed from the reception. Instructions available in English.
All day: Orienteering game for Erró fans. A fun orienteering game where guests turn on their attention and three lucky participants will be drawn and receive a prize, the book Power of Images. Stay tuned on #reykjavikartmuseum

Workshop: Collage scape. Guests can sit down, cut and glue and create a scape in the spirit of Erró.The workshop is located on the 1st floor of Hafnarhús.

Cartoonist Talk: The Power of Images. Halldór Baldursson multi-awarded cartooist will give two guided tours on the exhibition Erró: The Power of Images. In Icelandic.

Short Gallery Talk: The Power of Images. Join a museum docent for a 10-minute gallery talk and learn about a chosen work at the exhibition Erró: The Power of Images. The talks will be offered every half hour, the first one starting at 17h00 and the last one starting at 20h00. In Icelandic.

Pop-up bar. Malbygg Brewery hosts a pop-up bar in the cafeteria on 1st floor in Hafnarhus.

DJ OPEN. Dance party on the pier, 1st floor in Hafnarhus. Artists Arnar, Hildigunnur, Una og Örn Alexander are in charge for the music.

Let's Play Art: Grab a Needle. An open sewing workshop where the whole family can grab needle and thread and sew together.
