Ásmundur Ásmundsson: Hole
The exhibition Hole by artist Ásmundur Ásmundsson (b. 1971) is a part of the museum’s exhibition series where individual artists are invited to create an exhibition that underlines connections with what is happening outside the walls of the museum. In his exhibition Ásmundur created a 6 tn. concrete sculpture, a video and photographs reflecting on the fragile situation in Iceland in present time. The concrete sculpture was created with assistance from school children in Reykjavík, who dug a hole at Klambratún Park. Ásmundur then cast the hole in concrete and displayed the lump of concrete as sculptur.
