Hallsteins Park

The artist Hallsteinn Sigurdsson gave the City of Reykjavík 16 sculptures made of aluminum which Hallstein placed in Gufunes from 1989 to 2012. Today the Sculptures form a beautiful park, Hallsteins Park where the sculptures act as the main attraction. Artworks by Hallsteinn Sigurdsson are owned by many museums, but can also be seen in public spaces. He has held multible solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions.

Reykjavik Art Museum appreciated being able to add sculptures to it´s art Collection, and can thus contribute to make them accessible to the public in an urban environment. Reykjavík Art Museum will supervise maintenance and promotion of the sculpures and educate visitors about the importance of art in public spaces.
