Ásmundur's birthday

Free entry to Ásmundarsafn on the birthday of Sculpture Ásmundur Sveinsson.

Ásmundur Sveinsson was born the 20th May 1893 and was one of the pioneers of Icelandic sculpture. Reykjavík Art Museums preserves the artwork by Ásmundur. Ásmundarsafn has now  been reopened after extensive renovations and on the artist's birthday there will be free entry to the museum.

Between 16-18h00 there will be guided tours of the exhibitions As If to Demonstrate an Eclipse and Design for sculptor Ásmundur Sveinsson and outside in the garden there will be a treasure hunt for families. Austurbær School Orchestra plays for guests at 17.45.
