Extended application for D-Gallery exhibit open call

Reykjavík Art Museum announces an open call for artists to exhibit in the D-Gallery of Hafnarhús in 2023. The artists in question must not have held a solo exhibition in a public museum before, and they must be connected to the Icelandic art scene through studies, exhibitions or residence.

The series in D-Gallery in Hafnarhús began in 2007 and over forty artists have been presented through the series. The exhibitions aim to present artists with a strong and personal artistic vision who have not held a solo exhibition in a public museum before.Through this project artists get an opportunity to present their work in a professional setting and acquaint themselves with the guidelines which public museums follow in their activities. Simultaneously museum visitors gain an insight into new trends and currents in contemporary art.

The application shall include a CV and a short description of the intended project (max 250 words). Five images of previous works must be attached. A specially appointed selection committee will choose from the applications.
