Imagine Peace Tower lit today

Imagine Peace Tower lit today

The Imagine Peace Tower in Viðey will be lit again today, on the shortest day of the year at winter solstice. As of tomorrow, the day begins to lengthen again.

The Imagine Peace Tower is a work of art by Yoko Ono that she dedicated to her husband, the musician John Lennon. The Imagine Peace Tower is lit on his birthday, October 9, every year and turned off on the day he died, December 8.

As usual, the Imagine Peace Tower will be lit again, today, Monday 21 December at the winter solstice. In light of world conditions, it has been decided that instead of turning off the pillars when the new year has begun, the Imagine Peace Tower will illuminate the sky until March next year.

The light of the Imagine Peace Tower can be seen well in the capital area, but it can also be seen live here.
