Open Call for artists in Vitamin D group exhibition for 2024
Pleace notice: The submitted applications have now been selected!
Open Call: Reykjavík Art Museum is calling for artists to participate in the group exhibition Vitamin D at Hafnarhús, which will be opened in February 2024.
With this exhibition, the museum breaks the tradition of inviting up-and-coming artists to show in the museum's D-hall, but sets up a larger group exhibition in more of Hafnarhús' exhibition halls. This is done on the occasion of the fact that 50 artists have been presented in Hall D since 2007.
Vitamin D is an extra dose of creative energy that extends beyond the framework of D-hall and ensures the absorption of the latest trends in artistic creation in a short time. The joint exhibition will be prepared by the museum's experts based on the submitted proposals.
When selecting artists, the requirement is that they have not held a solo exhibition in a public art museum and have connections to Icelandic art life through studies, exhibitions and/or residence in this country. The application must be accompanied by a CV together with a brief description of one's artistic creation and a link to the website, if applicable, as well as five photographs of previous works. You can send a proposal for/description of previously unexhibited work(s) (maximum 250 words). A specially appointed jury selects the applications
Applications must be received by the end of Monday, 10 July 2023, to the email address listasafn@reykjavik.is – marked "D-2024". Please send inquiries to the same email address.
