Artist and curator in conversation
In the exhibition of Hildur Bjarnadóttir, Ecosystem of Colors, opening this weekend in Reykjavík Art Museum – Kjarvalsstaðir, the artist presents new work created in the last few years. They are part of Bjarnadóttir‘s PhD studies to be completed this fall from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design and the Norwegian Artistic Research Fellowship Programme. The artist will be in conversation with the exhibition’s curator, Ólöf Kristín Sigurðardóttir, director of the Reykjavík Art Museum.
All works in the exhibition are specific to a certain place and time. They can be seen as systems which bring out different information, feelings and elements of the land, viewing it from different angles. These are Bjarnadóttir's personal systems, they are artistic, subjective and autonomous, and give a structure to the artist’s relationship to nature and place.
Admission included in museum ticket.
