Nína Sæmundsson
Selected sculptures by Nína Sæmundson (1892-1965) from the Reykjavik Art Museum collection. Jónína Sæmundsdóttir, or Nína as she called herself, spent most of her career in North America, creating many works for public spaces, including the sculpture Spirit of Achievement for the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Sæmundson’s work can be found throughout Iceland; her best-known sculpture is perhaps Mother Love on Lækjargata in Reykjavík.
