A bus decorated with Errós' work in Reykjavík this summer

The power of images, a retrospective exhibition of Errós' work, opened on April 9th at the Reykjavík Art Museum - Hafnarhús. This is the most extensive exhibition on the artist's works in Iceland, who will celebrate his 90th birthday on 19th of July this year.

On the occasion of the exhibition and Errós' birthday, the Reykjavík Art Museum and Strætó joined forces and decorated the bus with excerpts from the artwork "Science Fiction Scape" from 1992. The Erró bus will run on different Strætó-routes and enliven the surroundings of the city of Reykjavík in all districts of the city.

The Power of Images is a comprehensive overview of the artist's colourful career that has made use of various media in the visual arts. Within it you will find everything from performances, video works, graphics, multiples and collages, to larger works in public spaces and paintings of all scales. All have helped to earn his place in the art history of Europe.

The exhibition will be open at the Reykjavík Art Museum - Hafnarhús until 29 September 2022.
