Richard Serra: Áfangar

The final day of the exhibition Áfangar by Richard Serra (b.1939) is Sunday 20 September. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the installation of the environmental artwork Áfangar on Viðey Island off Reykjavík.

There were a lot of people at the Sport Center in Austurberg in Breiðholt last Friday when the mural Queen of the Jungle by Erró was unveiled.

Women’s Time – Here and Now Thirty Years Later

The exhibition Women’s Time – Here and Now Thirty Years Later will be opened at Kjarvalsstaðir on Saturday 12 September at 4 p.m. Nearly 30 women will show new works but these are the same women who participated in an exhibition named Here and Now at Kjarvalsstaðir in 1985.

Sunday 30 August is the last day of the exhibitions, Júlíana Sveinsdóttir and Ruth Smith: Two Strong Women and Textile art by Júlíana Sveinsdóttir and Anni Albers: Vertical / horizontal at Kjarvalsstaðir.

Reykjavík Art Museum offers a diverse programme  at Hafnarhús and Kjarvalsstaðir for this year’s Reykjavík Culture Night that takes place on Saturday August 22nd. The program is free and open to everyone.
